Chris' fine art work focuses on moving natural aesthetics towards a style that feels like illustration or painting. His visual influences are taken from the world around us; landscapes, cityscapes, seascapes, wilderness, mountains, ruins - all subject matters that communicate his emotional impressions and pay tribute to the visual sense of time passage. His unique style of creating art is based on a meticulous process of digitally layering countless photographs together creating a single image that is rich in depth, color and detail. He uses environmental textures and illumination like a painter uses a palette of colors.

Artist Statement

I am passionate about photography. My photographic style begins with the admiration of the raw, untouched beauty of the natural world. My talent lies in transforming that same beauty by bending reality to create photographic art that is completely new and has never been seen.

My inspiration is the world we live in, where the most interesting things, at first glance, appear quite ordinary but, on closer inspection turn out to be sublimely beautiful. My photographic subjects are in their element, they have abandon and expression that cannot be captured in a studio.

I strive for extreme simplicity in my images. I pay close attention to light and contrast. By using selective focus, I am able to isolate subtle details not seen by passing observation. I am not willing to settle for the ordinary. I want to expand the beauty found in every moment, every child's smile, every flap of bird's wings, every loving couple, every wag of a best friend's tail - all the beauty that surrounds us. As I venture into the world around me, I find more and more wonderful subjects to explore.

Born and raised in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, I realized my true passion for photography as early as my high school years. I toned my talents at Lynn University, culminating in a Bachelor of Science degree in Graphic Design with a focus in photography. I currently exhibit my works in galleries, specialty stores and in art fairs. I am available for commissioned work.
